8th September

Seawatching provided the bulk of interest today with a fair movement of birds including 1899 fulmar, 117 sooty shearwater and 75 manx shearwater past in 3 hours. Migrant passerines were surprisingly thin on the ground given the conditions, but did include a wryneck at Trebb, a barred warbler by Kaven and a common rosefinch trapped at Holland. Other bits were a blackcap at Holland and only 4 willow warbler. Elsewhere on the Island a peregrine was seen and pintail on Ancum Loch had increased to 25.
