9th September

Just a handful of migrants today but still the odd scarcity present including a wryneck near Holland and a common rosefinch by the Kirk. Others were a redstart and a house martin at Lurand late afternoon, 2 pied flycatcher, 2 garden warbler, 2 goldcrest, 2 blackcap and 6 willow warbler. A fieldfare was seen near Kirbest and 2 each of grey heron and merlin toured the island. Seawatching proved slower than recent days with just a single sooty shearwater and 14 manx shearwater in just over an hours watch.
