The magical combination of easterlies and rain overnight failed to produce large numbers of birds with the year's first Common Sandpiper the day's highlight with a small arrival of 104 Wheatears, 5 White Wagtails, a Fieldfare and three Siskins alongside.   A count of 446 Turnstone was the largest of the year so far and four Lapland Buntings remained in Kirbest with the males starting to look very impressive as they gain their summer finery.
